CNC Manufacturing Engineer
Salary: Up to $95,000

Job Summary:
We are seeking a CNC Manufacturing Engineer to optimize machining processes, improve production efficiency, and ensure high-quality output in a CNC machining environment. This role will focus on process development, tooling selection, and continuous improvement for CNC machining operations, working closely with production, quality, and design teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, optimize, and implement CNC machining processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Program, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC machines (mills, lathes, multi-axis machines, etc.) using G-code, CAM software (Mastercam, GibbsCAM, Fusion 360, etc.), and CNC controllers.
- Select and evaluate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters to maximize productivity and tool life.
- Conduct process validations, first article inspections (FAI), and production part approval processes (PPAP) to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to reduce cycle time, scrap, and machine downtime.
- Work with design and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and adherence to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and engineering specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining, tooling, and production issues to maintain a smooth workflow.
- Provide technical support and training to machine operators and production staff to ensure proper setup and operation of CNC equipment.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors on tooling, material selection, and new process technologies.
- Maintain detailed documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process control plans.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3+ years of experience in CNC programming, machining, and manufacturing process development.
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages (G-code, M-code) and CAM software (Mastercam, GibbsCAM, Siemens NX, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of machining principles, metal cutting, tool selection, and fixture design.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, or other relevant quality management systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and quality teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, or precision machining industries.
- Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), or ASQ Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE).
- Experience with automation and robotics integration in CNC machining.
- Knowledge of ERP/MES systems for production tracking and scheduling.
