Senior Financial Analyst

Salary: Up to $95,000 plus bonuses

Location: NW Chicago Suburbs


Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst with manufacturing experience to provide financial insights, support strategic decision-making, and drive cost efficiency. This role will focus on financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis, working closely with operations, supply chain, and executive leadership to optimize financial performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, experience in manufacturing cost structures, and expertise in financial modeling.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and profitability to provide actionable insights.
  • Develop and manage financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support strategic planning.
  • Monitor and evaluate cost of goods sold (COGS), inventory valuation, and production efficiency.
  • Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. budget vs. forecast) to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Partner with operations and supply chain teams to optimize cost structures, pricing strategies, and capital expenditures.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior leadership.
  • Support ERP system data analysis and reporting, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions and cost tracking.
  • Assist in business case development for new investments, product launches, and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and corporate financial policies.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and analysis.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, standard costing, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and data visualization.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles is a plus.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA, CMA, or CFA certification.
  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, or industrial manufacturing industries.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, supply chain finance, and capital project analysis.
