EHS Manager
Location: NE Houston, TX
Base Salary: $80,000 to $110,000
A growing industrial manufacturer is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to take full ownership of safety operations and drive a proactive safety culture. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on the plant floor and is committed to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Serve as the sole safety leader for the plant, overseeing all workplace safety initiatives.
- Conduct regular safety audits to ensure compliance with company standards and OSHA regulations.
- Drive safety turnarounds and lead continuous improvement efforts.
- Be visible and accessible to both day and night shifts, including working a late shift (3 PM – 11 PM) two days per week.
- Promote a proactive safety culture, ensuring employees understand and follow safety protocols.
- Collaborate with plant management to identify and resolve safety concerns quickly and effectively.
- Train and educate employees on best practices for workplace safety.
- Lead incident investigations and track corrective actions to prevent future issues.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of safety leadership experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience as the sole safety leader at a facility.
- Strong personality with a hands-on, on-the-floor leadership approach.
- Plant safety turnaround experience with a track record of improving safety performance.
- Experience developing and enforcing safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to work a late shift (3 PM – 11 PM) two days per week to engage with the night shift.
