2nd Shift Production Supervisor – Food Manufacturing

Salary: Up to $85,000

Job Summary:

We are seeking a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor with experience in food manufacturing to oversee daily production operations, ensure compliance with food safety regulations, and drive team performance. This role is responsible for leading production staff, optimizing efficiency, and maintaining quality standards while ensuring a safe work environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead production teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality food processing operations.
  • Monitor production schedules, labor efficiency, and machine performance to meet production goals.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCP, SQF, and GMP regulations to maintain food safety and quality.
  • Train and coach employees on proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Work closely with maintenance, quality, and warehouse teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
  • Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Track and analyze production data, yield reports, and downtime metrics to improve efficiency.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and team development programs.
  • Assist in audits, inspections, and process improvements to enhance food safety and operational effectiveness.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Business, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred) OR equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing, processing, or packaging.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, SQF, GMPs, and food safety regulations.
  • Experience managing high-speed production lines, batching, and packaging operations.
  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP/MRP systems, and production tracking software.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Background in meat, dairy, baked goods, frozen foods, or beverage production.
