Instrument Technician
Salary: Up to $75,000 base plus OT, 12 hour rotating shifts
Location: Myrtle Beach, SC
Seeking an Instrument Technician to provide leadership, maintenance, and support for electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems in a specialized manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and process improvement to enhance equipment reliability and ensure smooth production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe work environment by following all safety procedures and promoting a safety-first culture.
- Take a leadership role in problem-solving, ensuring total quality in maintenance operations.
- Repair and maintain electrical, electronic, and power systems, including digital/analog circuitry, inverters, lasers, AC/DC drive systems, relay logic, and power distribution systems.
- Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical and hydraulic systems, including cranes, balers, and packaging machinery.
- Perform welding as required within scope of experience and training.
- Implement and adhere to the preventive maintenance program to optimize equipment performance.
- Comply with pollution control, waste management, and safety regulations.
- Write and assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), troubleshooting procedures, and training materials.
- Take the initiative to suggest and implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance equipment reliability and technician training.
- Participate in the scheduled on-call rotation for maintenance and troubleshooting support.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
- Assist in hands-on training of maintenance technicians in troubleshooting techniques.
- Develop and document maintenance procedures for critical process equipment and instrument calibration.
- Collaborate with maintenance supervision to establish ISO 9002 standards within the department.
- Analyze equipment failures to improve reliability and implement corrective actions.
- Provide leadership and support to operations teams in identifying, solving, and preventing process-related issues.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Formal training and demonstrated skills in industrial maintenance, including electronics, electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, and welding.
- Proven leadership and teamwork abilities in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong communication and documentation skills to ensure accurate reporting and knowledge sharing.
