2nd Shift Electro-Mechanical Technician
Salary: Up to $40 / Hour plus 5% shift differential
Hours: 3 PM to 11 PM Monday to Friday
Location: Kenosha / Racine WI Area
Position Summary:
Responsible for maintaining equipment and facility infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role involves performing preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance activities.
- Identify and implement efficiency improvements for existing equipment and processes.
- Support installation, startup, and qualification of new equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and minor electrical failures, including sensors and fault conditions.
- Replace defective variable frequency drives and motors as needed.
- Review technical documentation to update preventive maintenance schedules.
- Analyze maintenance data to enhance predictive maintenance programs.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records, including work performed, parts used, and time spent.
- Set up and troubleshoot process equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve technical issues promptly.
- Utilize knowledge of PLCs, hydraulics, AC/DC systems, and fuses for troubleshooting and repairs.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong mechanical aptitude demonstrated through education or relevant experience.
- Understanding of plant operations and production equipment functionality.
- Ability to diagnose and repair equipment independently and propose long-term solutions.
- Familiarity with inventory maintenance systems.
- Capable of initiating and managing equipment and facility projects under leadership direction.
- Proficiency in machining parts using lathes, mills, and welding equipment.
- Experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, as well as perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Skilled in handling hand and power tools safely.
- Experience in manual fabrication, including TIG/MIG welding, vertical mills, or engine lathes (preferred).
- Background in food processing or basic GMP training (preferred).
- Experience leading maintenance operations in a high-speed packaging environment (preferred).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical activities, including lifting, bending, standing, climbing, and walking.
Work Environment:
- Climate-controlled facility with adequate lighting.
